Room Acoustics
The Typical Setup

Typical setup for acoustic measuremets is a spherical sound source and a dedicated test system, comprising microphones, a portable computer with acquisition / measurement software. Room acoustic measurement is not always a must, but in medium to highly reverberant areas it is suggested to consider it as an integral part of a sound system. There are also venues where acoustic energy shall not cover specific areas or where some areas need a separate, time aligned sound source. Room acoustics defines the strategy adopted for a specific venue such as loudspeaker type, signal processing complexity, power needed and so on.
